Keep Your Car Engine Oil Fresh
February 22, 2010
Ever wonder why the oil change shop you go to for a low cost oil change tells you that you need to replace your oil in 3000 miles or 3 months.
Why do they tell you this?
If you own a relatively new vehicle, your owner’s manual likely tells you that you need to change to the oil no more often then every 7500 miles. That’s a significant difference.
Think about it. In the “old days”, your car was not as advanced as the cars today. And yes, you needed to change your oil relatively often.
But with today’s vehicles, you have a well tune machine designed to go farther with less maintenance.
The only logical reason the oil change shop tells you to come back for an oil change within 3000 miles is to make more money from you, plain and simple.

Speaking of tires, there are some mud kings that offer good value for the price. You just need to know what to look for when purchasing new tires. One of the more important things to look for is the warranty; yes, the warranty.
Once you have your cheap Michelin tires, it is your job to keep them in good shape so you get the most mileage out of them as possible. And that means keeping the tires properly inflated at all time. It is easy enough to keep a tire gauge in the car. Every time you stop at the gas station, make a point to check the tire pressure. Keeping the proper tire pressure will go a long ways to keeping your tires lasting a long time.
