President Davis finally admitted, “All is indeed lost.” The construction of the house was supervised by Cubic, a slave and master carpenter.  Story has it that the Lesleys saw a house on a trip north and patterned this house on that one.  The house is a two-story white frame structure with four square columns supporting the pediment front portico, two stories height and extending across the central section of the house.

Idea #2:  Explore History at the Anderson County Museum.  Located on the western side of South Carolina, the county of Anderson was named after the Revolutionary War leader Robert Anderson. The museum, which reopened in 2003, has a mission to collect and exhibits, artifacts, and items that best illustrate the long history of Anderson County.
